Morocco: BCIJ dismantled terrorist cell that planned to join ISIS camps in Libya

The Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ), a branch of Morocco’s domestic intelligence agency (DGST) dismantled a terrorist cell composed of nine members on Thursday March 24, reportedly with links to ISIS in Libya. The arrests were done simultaneously across the country, in Casablanca suburb Had Soualem, in the villages of Zbirate and Haidate in the Sidi Bennour area (El Jadida province), Marrakech and also far south in the Westsaharan town of Es-Smara. The initial investigation has shown that the group were ready to prepare the execution of terrorist operations in the country, but also to join ISIS camps in Libya in order to receive training and acquire combat experience.
